CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

Our Chinese New Year celebration was held on Friday, January 31, 2025. It was a wonderful time for students to show appreciation for family, friends, teachers, and classmates. The day was filled with class decorations based on the Chinese Zodiac, lantern and mask making, and fun games like the chopstick race and dragon tail chase. We ended the celebration with a potluck lunch, sharing twelve traditional Chinese dishes such as dumplings, noodles, spring rolls, and sweets, enjoying food and fellowship together.More than just a fun event, the celebration was a meaningful time to learn about Chinese traditions and to foster greater understanding, peace, and acceptance among students. By experiencing different celebrations, students not only learned about new cultures but also recognized that, despite our differences, we share many common hopes and dreams. The day was a reminder that diversity should be celebrated, not feared, and that our unique traditions and backgrounds are what make our community stronger and more beautiful. Through sharing meals, laughter, and stories, students built deeper connections and embraced the idea that appreciating others’ cultures brings us closer together.
